How quote pricing works

Owners set service charges, labor levels, parts markup and taxes in Settings > Quote pricing, and Aiventic applies them to jobs.

Quote pricing controls how Aiventic prices a job after triage: the service charge, labor levels, parts markup, discounts, extra charges and sales tax. Owners set these rules in Settings > Quote pricing, and Aiventic applies them when someone selects Calculate pricing on a job.

Who can do this: Owners only, with an active subscription. Service Managers and Technicians don't see Quote pricing in Settings.

The four tabs

Tab

What you set

Pricing settings

Service charge, waiving the service charge, and brand multipliers

Jobs types & descriptions

Job types (labor levels with a price) and job descriptions by equipment type and brand

Parts

Parts markup ranges, which parts are included, and parts sourcing

Charges & taxes

Discounts, additional charges and sales tax

How a job total is built

The total is the service charge plus the job type (labor) price plus the parts price, plus any additional charges, minus any discount, plus sales tax. Brand multipliers can raise the service, labor and parts amounts for specific brands.

Edit, save and reset

  1. Go to Settings > Quote pricing. Each tab opens read-only.

  2. Select Edit and change the values.

  3. Select Save changes. You see a confirmation such as "Pricing settings have been updated". Select Cancel to leave without saving. If you have unsaved changes, you are asked "Discard changes?".

  4. Sections that differ from your starting template show a Modified badge.

  5. To go back to the template, select Reset to default, then Reset all.

Note: Reset all restores every pricing section (pricing settings, job types and descriptions, parts, and charges and taxes) to your assigned template, not only the tab you are on. It cannot be undone. When nothing differs from the template, Reset to default is greyed out and says "Pricing matches your assigned template".

Using the rules on a job

The job must be triaged first. On the job, open the Pricing tab and select Calculate pricing. Changes you make on the job's Pricing tab apply to that job only. Changing your Quote pricing settings later does not reprice jobs that were already calculated.

Troubleshooting

  • No pricing assigned ("No pricing template has been assigned to your team yet. Contact support to get set up."): contact Aiventic support to get set up.

  • Could not load pricing: select Retry. If it keeps failing, contact Aiventic support.

  • You don't see Quote pricing in Settings: you need to be an Owner with an active subscription.

  • You do not have access to pricing: managing team pricing requires Owner permissions. Ask your team Owner.
