Job types are Aiventic's labor levels. Each level has a code, a description and a price, and each level represents more complexity and expertise. Iven picks a base labor level for a job and raises it automatically when it detects extra complexity. You manage them on the Jobs types & descriptions tab.

Who can do this: Owners only, with an active subscription.

Edit job types

  1. Go to Settings > Quote pricing > Jobs types & descriptions.

  2. Select Edit.

  3. Under Job Types (Labor levels), change the Code, Description or Price of a level. To add one, select Add job type.

  4. To delete a level, use the trash button (Remove job type).

  5. Select Save changes. You see "Job types and descriptions have been updated".

Each code must be unique (up to 32 characters). A description is required (up to 512 characters). The price is required and can't be negative.

Removing a job type

  • If a job type is the default for any job description, you see Job type in use as a default and it can't be removed. Change those descriptions' default job type first.

  • If it is only used in brand cells, you are asked to confirm. Removing it empties those cells.

  • Renaming a code counts as removing the old one, so the same checks apply when you save.

Job descriptions by equipment type

Below the job types, Job description lists your equipment types. Open one to see a table with a row for each job description and a column for each brand. Each cell shows the job type and price used for that repair and brand, or a dash if none is set. Use the industry filter or Search equipment types and descriptions to find one quickly.

  1. Select Edit, open an equipment type and select Add description.

  2. Enter the Job description and choose a Default job type. Add a job type first if the list is empty.

  3. Select Add description in the window, then pick a job type for each brand cell as needed. A cell's menu also has Remove pricing for this brand.

  4. Select Save changes.

Use the pencil button on a row to change its description or default job type (Update description), and the trash button to remove it. Removing a description also removes its pricing cells. Nothing is saved until you select Save changes.

Good to know

  • Job types and descriptions are part of your template. Reset to default restores them, along with every other pricing section.

  • The Labor (x) brand multiplier is applied on top of the job type price.

  • Edits on a single job's Pricing tab apply to that job only.
