Parts markup and sourcing

Set parts markup ranges, which parts are priced, Account or Retail pricing mode and your primary supplier.

On the Parts tab of Quote pricing, you set how parts are marked up, which suggested parts count toward the estimate, and which supplier Iven checks first.

Who can do this: Owners only, with an active subscription.

Parts Pricing (Markup Multipliers)

Create rules by part cost range. Each range covers parts whose cost (your wholesale price) falls inside it, and uses either a multiplier or a fixed retail price. Iven applies the matching rule to each part.

  1. Go to Settings > Quote pricing > Parts and select Edit.

  2. Under Parts Pricing (Markup Multipliers), set From and To for each range. Select Add range for another one, or the trash button (Remove range) to delete one.

  3. Choose a Pricing method: Multiplier (cost times the number you enter, which must be above 0) or Fixed price (enter a Fixed retail price, above 0).

  4. Select Save changes. You see "Parts settings have been updated".

  • The first range always starts at $0.00 and always uses a fixed retail price.

  • The last range is always open-ended and shows "and above".

  • Ranges follow each other without gaps or overlaps. Aiventic adjusts the neighbouring range by one cent when you change a boundary. You need at least one range.

If your ranges differ from the template, a Customized from defaults banner appears. Expand it to compare Default values with Customized, and select Restore default ranges while editing to put the template ranges back. You see "Default ranges restored. Save changes to apply."

Parts included in pricing

Option

What is priced

All suggested parts

Everything Iven proposed, including dismissed parts

Everything except dismissed parts

Dismissed parts are left out. Parts awaiting review stay in

Only approved parts

Only parts your team approved. Anything not yet reviewed stays out

Changing this does not reprice jobs that were already calculated. Each job keeps the option it was priced with.

Parts sourcing

  1. On the Parts tab, select Edit.

  2. Under Parts sourcing, choose a Pricing mode:
Account (Wholesale) marks up your wholesale price with your markup ranges.
Retail quotes the supplier list (MSRP) price plus the adjustment. For parts with no published retail price, it falls back to your markup ranges.

  3. Set the Parts adjustment. It is a flat amount (0.00 or more, to the cent) added to each unit of the supplier retail price, and it is never multiplied. It is only available in Retail mode.

  4. Choose a Primary parts source: the supplier Iven checks first. Any configured checks all of your connected suppliers and uses the first result.

  5. Under Distributor order, select Set your own order, then drag a supplier or use its up and down arrows to set the order your technicians see price results in. Select Go back to the default order to undo. The primary parts source is still queried and shown first, whatever this order says.

  6. Select Save changes.

In Retail mode, a list What each connected supplier will do shows how each connected supplier is priced: retail, retail plus your adjustment, or your markup ranges when the supplier doesn't publish retail prices. A warning means a supplier's prices are already retail, so your markup would be applied on top.

Troubleshooting

  • "No parts providers are configured yet": connect a supplier in Settings > Integrations first. Until then, every part is priced with your markup ranges.

  • Parts multipliers on brands have no effect in Retail mode. Your values are kept.

  • "Enter an amount of 0.00 or more, to the cent": fix the Parts adjustment amount.

  • "Range start must be lower than the end": fix the From and To values of that range.
